Red7Fury has come a long way in an incredibly short amount of time. The brainchild of New Jersey artist and producer Furious Stylz, Red7Fury first tasted life as an intensely accomplished solo project that has astounded and impressed everyone who has happened upon it's genius, attested to by the fact that R7F's first offering, the "Red Velvet Sky" EP on Silencer Records, thoroughly took the music world by storm and quickly sold out it's initial pressing and the impressive tracks could be found spanning the globe on many radio and DJ play lists.
After leaving Silencer Records in 2004, and a short hiatus due to personal reasons, Furious and the project ultimately metamorphosized into the current lineup of a five piece band, and is preparing to take their highly original brand of music back out into the world once again. And it is not something that should be taken lightly. This is music filled with every emotion the human animal can muster, taken to the very limit, then charged with a strong and undeniable energy that absolutely can not be contained.
Weaving a dark, menacing dystopian soundscape that seamlessly blends more genres than I care to list, the impeccably brilliant programming of Furious speaks a language entirely it's own. Highly structured, expertly crafted and mastered, "The Depths Inside" resounds with a unique and totally accessible quality that will appeal to the listener, and the astonishing production value will leave them desperately craving more.
Harsh and dissonant, the layers upon layers of painstakingly sculpted cacophony lend potency to the painful and distressed yet affecting lyrics and vocals, and at times give way to some of the most melodic and orchestrated structures and timbres. Whether subtlely in the background or blindingly overwhelming at the forefront, the programming and synth work are nothing short of perfection, and the effortless combination of heavy, distorted guitar riffs, thunderous, rhythmic percussion, and mechanical progressions do nothing but fuel the already blazing fire from such a technical marriage of sounds.
Vocally and musically satisfying, Red7Fury stand poised to wage war on the electronic/industrial rock scene. I could tell you of all the bands they remind me of, but it would honestly do no justice to this phenomenal band. And it wouldn't be entirely fair, as I think they have far surpassed the talent and drive of most of the groups that have inspired the sound found on "Inside The Depths", and could doubtlessly give the aforementioned pioneers a lesson or two.
Standout songs on the album include the aggressive and catchy "I Can't Believe I loved You", the mid tempo rhythm and addictive sequencing of "Sea Of Pain", the painful, disassociative, and angry feel of "Through", and the blaring anger and incomparable passionate fury of "You Were The One", my personal favorite track off "The Depths Inside".
Red7Fury is a band I have no doubt we will be hearing a lot more of and for a long time to come. This is music that will stand the test of time and quickly gain the respect that it deserves, burrowing its way into cd players, record collections, and the hearts and minds of any dedicated and intelligent music fan like the living, breathing creature that it is.

Red 7 Fury -- THE DEPTHS INSIDE (DJ promo cd-r) BY
MICHAEL from ((EBM RADIO)) IN GERMANY
EBM RADIO GERMANY
Das zweite Stück "Can't Believe I Loved You" geht
eher in Richtung Manson, allerdings ohne deren aufgesetzte Glam-Attitüde.
Und wie der Titel vermuten lässt, ist dieses treibende Stück
Musik bestens geeignet, den Frust über eine enttäuschte
Beziehung raus zu lassen.........
Beim dritten Titel "The Only One That's Left For You" treffen
Bleibt also abzuwarten, ob das fertige Album hält, was die
Promo verspricht. Ein Blick nach Amerika lohnt allemal.....
ENGLISH TRANSLATED VERSION
To whom nowadays in " Old Europe " presented
music sometimes appears to soft and uninspired, the occasional look
would be recommended that to America. In the " New world " one
was and is as it is known a little more generously in the choice
of the weapons. Of volume like Nine Inch Nails, KMFDM and Ministry,
unfortunately, however, also Marylin Mansion, cover this.
In exactly this notch the to begin with Promo of RED 7 FURY also
lashes out to the next album. 5 songs contains the astoundingly luxuriously
formed CD ruffian who give a rather good overview about the musical
spectrum RED 7 FURYs.
The first song " Red Velvet Sky " reminds of quiet NIN,
however, is still independent. Outgoing from a temperate beginning,
the orchestral song increases at the end considerably and unfolds
his energy.
The second piece "Can't Believe I Loved You" goes rather
in the direction of Manson, indeed, without their put on Glam manner.
And as the title allows to suppose, this floating piece of music
is suitable very well to let the frustration about a disappointed
respect out .........
With the third title "The Only One That’s Left For You" both
styles meet what proves a powerful mixture.
Other Gerts with "The One Thing", a really cultivated
Electro piece with which must be also no more fallen back comparative
on other volume.
Then the independent, partially harsh Electro-Sounds come in the
fifth and the last piece "Sea of Pain" for the crowning
conclusion: a carrying away Mid tempo number with partly distorted
song and really grease and interesting Sounds.
All in all these 5 pieces know how to persuade and do desire on
more. The Sounds are worked out all with a lot of love to the detail
and give a perceptible independence to the songs in spite of all
resemblances. Also the application scanty for ind skirt of the guitar
gives pluses .......
It remains to wait whether the ready album holds what promises the
Promo. A look to America repays always....
Red 7 Fury is one man, Furious, and a battery of synths, guitars,
and efx modules. There's a heavy Nine Inch Nails and Front 242 happening
in songs like "The Only One That's Left For You," especially
since Furious shares Reznor's morbid obsession with building up layers
of destroyed sound around the rhythms, then pounding them into dust
with huge, stuttering electronic percussion. But then there's more
goth-like material such as the loping "Red Velvet Sky," all
tribal percussion and majestic keyboard drones and whining oscilloscope
noises, over which Furious hisses and broods like a dark prince who
forgot to take his meds. "Can't Believe I Loved You" is
more akin to Depeche Mode on steroids or early Skinny Puppy, with
seriously thumping drums and harsh vox. I like the way "Sea
of Pain" is built around a fast percolating sequencer riff,
but the when the drums come in, they're midtempo rather than blazing...
and then he starts weaving sheets of rhythmic sound in layers and
processing the vox in unexpected ways. He's not blazing new and uncharted
territory here, but he sounds awfully good doing it; the attention
to detail and the sounds themselves is most impressive, and his sound
is a fair bit more raw and in-your-face than some of the bands he's
been weaned on. Worth checking out if you're down with the industrial
club moves.
"Red 7 Fury lives up to its name with a furious blend of rich
vocals, driving guitars and stellar production and mastering. Keep
your eye on R7F for the future - if this is how good it is now, the
future is going to blow your f***ing mind!" - DJ IZ, Industrial
Zoning
Very rarely does a band name do a good job describing it’s
sound, but I think Furious of Red 7 Fury has chosen the right adjective
because “fury” is definitely what I would describe it
as. With a guitar-laced industrial (at times almost goth rock) sound,
I think Red 7 Fury pulls you into each track and oozes the furious
emotion through your eardrums. You’ll notice that not all tracks
are fast and hard with screamed vocals, but something about this
angry edge voice makes this some nice “pissed-off mood music”,
even if you’re listening to the slowest track on the album.
The one-man project of Furious, Red 7 Fury is a well-polished and
well-produced sound that should appeal to fans of NIN, Marilyn Manson
and Skinny Puppy. To be honest, in many ways I think these “big
names” could learn a thing or two from Red 7 Fury. Currently
on Silencer Records, expect to find Red 7 Fury taking over the airwaves
and even filling club floors as rock-driven industrial is given a
new breath of life. Curious to know what the new single “Red
Velvet Sky” sounds like? Then read on…
Surreal – Like a swarm of angry digital bees, “Surreal” opens
off. Adding in almost tribal drums, and some distorted guitar riffs,
this track peaks off into some nice synth work and some amazing vocals
courtesy of Furious. The guitars really come out during the chorus,
and I must say that the vocals reach their gripping peak at this
point. Although this track is overall not “clubby”, it
would fit in well with some slower industrial tracks and should move
people emotionally if not physically.
Red Velvet Sky – Really nice orchestration to open this track
up. Very mellow with some unique synth lines thrown in. I was captured
again at the tribal feel of the drums, and the vocals are more whispered
and mellow. As the track progresses there’s a nice piano break
that comes in. Although technically simplistic, it’s a beautiful
addition to the mood of the track. Overall a haunting melody, also
punctuated by some background cries of anguish.
Can’t Relate (Seeing Red Mix) – With some fat synths
to open up, along with some haunting orchestrations, “Can’t
Relate” moves into some of the most uncharacteristic vocals
I’ve heard from Red 7 Fury. I actually wasn’t sure if
it was Furious singing, just because they seemed a higher octave
than normal and he comes out with some screaming points and even
seems to bust a little rap (by that I mean like a 4-second bit).
Howling wind and tweaked-out electronics, along with some dark pounding
drums really add to what is a screaming mix.
Red Velvet Sky (Club Pounder Mix) – With a tweaked out guitar
intro (actually, the guitar made me think of Rage Against the Machine),
most people may not consider this to be much of a “club pounder
mix”. Give it time tho, as this mix adds in some really nice
smooth synths and eventually does go into a really nice beat, but
maybe not as much of a “pounder” as some would expect.
Still, mix it up DJs!
I also took the time to review a few other tracks that Red 7 Fury
has done for the upcoming full-length album.
Can’t Believe I Loved You – I love this one! Awesome
drum intro (the drums have this old school industrial feel to them),
and great for mixing. Really catchy synth lines and some harder vocals
are added. Definitely progressive in harshness and fury as it moves
to the chorus. A few guitar riffs and some piano plinks were also
worked in, which is really nice to have for some diversity. The vocals
just hit home for some of those crappy relationships I’ve had
over the years, and furious screaming “I can’t f*ing
believe I loved you!” just makes me want to play this to all
those girls.
The One Thing – To me more of a goth rock track, “The
One Thing” sports some really nice drums and blazing guitars.
These same to take the lead, but shouldn’t discout the synth
work that’s subtly laid in behind. The vocals aren’t
hard with the exception of a few crescendoing background sceamers,
and in many ways I’d like to say that M. Manson only wishes
he could sound this good. Piano at the end is a really nice mellow
way to fade out.
Red: n. one of the additive or light primaries; one of the psychological
primary hues. 7: n. The cardinal number equal to 6 + 1. Fury: n.Violent
anger; rage.
Take all the passion, love, hate and intense pain you have ever
felt. Neatly pack it into a blender. Once finished, open the lid.
Unable to be contained, the contents spill onto your ears with the
raw intensity bestowed upon them. THAT...my friends, is the music
of Red7Fury. With his latest single, Red Velvet Sky, Furious has
given us a slice of the music he will bring us: raw, intense & pure.
Yet, this is but a glimpse of what will be unleashed in the near
future...a full-length album: The Depths Inside.
RVS features “Red Velvet Sky”, “Surreal”,
an exclusive mix of “Can't Relate” and a remix of the
title track. I enjoyed the sounds put together by Furious due to
the fact that they don't fit into any one mold; they're quite varied
and he seems to draw on different genres such as gothic, ethereal
and darkwave to bring it all together. This is a “must have” for
those wanting to expand their musical horizons.
Red Velvet Sky: begins with a haunting orchestration only to be
enhanced by drums in the background and then pulls you back into
a haunting mood with great samples. The vocals soon follow, but don't
release you until the end.
Surreal: Heavier sounding (in terms of the guitars used) and the
beat is faster than the first track. More aggressive as opposed to
haunting but just as good.
Can't Relate (Seeing Red Mix): This track puts the “fury” in
Red7Fury. Great composition and assailing lyrics push this track
over the top. You'll be singing this one for days.
Red Velvet Sky (club pounder mix): A heavier interpretation of the
title track (but I'm sure you could have figured that one out on
your own). Added samples and synth work give this one a little extra “oomph”.
